It’s made up of two components, a box that holds a tea set and tea, and a removable nest that can be stored out of the way, or used as a presentation platform for the box to sit on. There’s a lot of woodworking in this small, classic-looking box.
Materials: I used mahogany for this project. I love the richness of the wood and it compliments the design of the tea caddy nicely. The four sides of the box are joined together with dovetails. The Inner compartment is divided by partitions that fit inside dados and can be removed to create a larger storage area. A sliding lid reveals a compartment for tea storage.
